"Studienchecker" – Overview
Assistance of young people in an important decision-making process
Educational and career choices are getting more and more complex for school graduates. The high drop-out rates prove that those decisions are not always unerring.
The purpose of the project "Studienchecker" is to contribute to assisting adolescents in the pre-final and final schoolyear in adapting their educational choices better to their inclinations and abilities.
The "Studienchecker" comprises measures for decision guidance for young people to enable them to set the course for their educational and career choices in an individually appropriate direction.

Pre-final schoolyear
The program starts with a portfolio for each pupil. Supportive contents and space for individual notes and ideas are intended to help the pupils with gathering and collecting information.
In the course of the process, the young people improve their ability to assess themselves: With the scientifically approved questionnaire of interests “Explorix”, pupils get to know and reflect their strengths and potentials much more accurate.
The pupils get the opportunity to exchange their experiences in class and receive competent support by the psychological student counselors.
Final schoolyear
In the final schoolyear, the pupils are supposed to intensify their experiences and findings as well as to gain insights in the study processes and in options of implementing career plans. Thereby, dialogues about courses of studies and the professional world should be provided.
The project “Studienchecker” aims at motivating the pupils and facilitating the establishment of contacts with conversational partners. Here the cooperation with associated institutions around studies and careers is very important.
